Best Anti-Aging Oils for Skin

Hey everyone. It’s Maria here. Welcome back to another tip Tuesday video today, we’re going to be talking about essential oils and specifically anti-aging essential oils. So I’ve chosen my top three favorite ones that I feel have the most benefits for anti-aging properties on the skin. And I’m going to be giving you a quick little summary on those, the benefits and how to use them.

So skincare products nowadays definitely contain essential oils. I feel like sometimes it can be a bit confusing, which ones you need, which ones are, you know, for the best benefits on your skin. So I thought I would start out this week with the anti-aging oils. There are several out there, and if you are a fan of, um, facial serums, oil or otherwise, and you know, the green.

Beauty moisturizer brands that are out there right now. Definitely, you have come across some of these essential oils.

Which ones are my three favorites? So I’m going to start with the order that I love them. The first one would be frankincense essential oil. The second one is lavender.

You should definitely never have lavender missing from your household. The last one is Ylang Ylang. I will tell you a little bit about the benefits of these on the skin, so you can understand how they can benefit your skin and the anti-aging properties that they offer.

Anti Aging Oils for the skin frankincense

Frankincense

But I also want you to understand that it’s also the aromatherapy benefits that they offer while you’re using them on your skin and in your skincare. So starting off with frankincense essential oil because I absolutely adore frankincense. Frankincense is the King of essential oils. It has been recovered for its ability to rejuvenate and beautify the skin.

And if you use it at night time in your skincare, you can definitely tell the difference when you wake up the next morning. Since antiquity by engine civilizations, it was used in religious ceremonies and it was also made into solves to suit the scheme you during religious ceremonies.

If you haven’t smelled frankincense essential oil, you need to know it has a really strong smell. It is very earthy. I feel like it’s grounding. It’s almost like nothing else out there.

But the other thing is that, when you’re using it in your skincare, you’re getting the benefits of the aromatherapy of these oils. So the aroma of frankincense promotes feelings of satisfaction, peace, relaxation and also overall wellness. So this is what’s so beneficial about using essential oils in your skincare because your skin gets to reap the benefits, but also you are transported into a better mood.

Lavender

Of course, you know, you are taking care of yourself, so it kind of all feeds into each other. The second oil I want to talk about is lavender. Lavender essential oil is something that’s never missing from my household. I love adding a couple of drops into my kids, a bath in the evening, but it also has amazing benefits for the skin.

Again, very similar to frankincense, it was used by the ancient Egyptians and the Romans for bathing, cooking, relaxation, and of course for perfume. And, when it’s applied topically, it’s very beneficial in reducing imperfections from the skin. So this would be a really good one to use for the aging benefits, but it’s also a fantastic essential oil to use overall.

If you suffer from acne or other problems on your skin, we know lavender has calming and relaxing properties. And this is the main reason that it’s mostly used to diffuse around the house or to put on your pillow, but it also has amazing benefits for the skin.

So if you’ve never used lavender, on your skin, please try it. Of course, don’t forget to dilute it in a carrier oil. Rosehip would be amazing to use along with lavender on the skin.

Ylang Ylang

And the third one I want to talk about – it’s not something that a lot of people talk about is Ylang Ylang essential oil. Okay, so Ylang Ylang, just like the other two oils, frankincense and lavender, has been used since antiquity in religion.

For example, in wedding ceremonies, in perfume, and also aromatherapy in products. It has protective properties for the skin and also for hair. So this one would be a really nice one to add to a hair oil. If you are using hair oil, it will help you. Your hair will smells really nice, and also it will protect the hair shaft as well.

So in aromatherapy, the smell of the Ylang Ylang is very unique but it’s also floral. So you have to really, really like this type of floral smell, but not too florally. Does that make sense? So Elaine in YLang Ylang in aromatherapy, it’s amazing for lessening tension and also stress.

Side Note, Ylang Ylang…

It promotes a positive outlook, so a fantastic oil as well to be used during times when you might be feeling a little bit more stressed with what’s going on in the world right now. So how would you use these essential oils? If you have a face oil at home that contains these essential oils, that’s fantastic. You might also have oil that contains only one of these.

So let’s say for example, skincare oil I have contains frankincense essential oil. It also contains Neroli. But you might feel like to experiment and put something else in there. Maybe you have an oil that is just plain, like Rosehip oil. You can customize this with your own essential oil selection.

Overview of Oils

All these oils are fantastic for anti-aging benefits. If you want to use some of your essential oils, you can do that by creating your own custom oil blend. So for a two-ounce bottle, you need to use 20 drops. A lot of the serum bottles, I find they are one-ounce bottles for something like this, you would use 10 drops and you can play around with the mix. So you could use five drops of one essential oil and then three or two of another. Something like this or 10 drops for a one-ounce bottle or you can just choose one of these essential oils and then just do all 10 drops of one essential oil.

Make your own Oil Serum

It’s also very, very easy to make your own face oil. So I have an oil here, a facial oil that was gifted to me. And this one here, it doesn’t contain any essential oils at all. This is again a one-ounce bottle and it contains a beautiful blend of carrier oils. Are these are these are yours. Or oils, you’re playing oil such as rosehips, avocado and jojoba.

This is a beautiful blend oils, but don’t contain essential oils. So it’s always really useful to have a plain oil around the house. I feel like that’s really essential because you might have sensitivities to essential oils or maybe you are pregnant. It’s always really great to stay away from a lot of scents during pregnancy.

Essential oils can be a contraindication for a few different conditions. So if you know it’s safe for you to be using essential oils, you could take your face oil and as you’re using it in the evening, maybe you’re using it for oil cleansing or you are using it to massage your face, add a couple drops of essential oils to see how you like it.

Just a few drops

You can simply just take a few drops of your oil, add it to the palm of your hand. This is pretty much how I do it every evening. And then you take your essential oils – I’m going to use frankincense for this one – I’m just going to do two drops into the little pool that I have in my hand. And then I just blend by rubbing my hands together. I warm it up and then I just press it onto my skin.

You can get the top of your hands, breathe that in and give your face a really nice massage with the oil. And just take a little bit of time for yourself. So just to summarize the best anti-aging essential oils are frankincense, lavender, and the YLang YLang. These can be beautifully mixed in some of the carrier oils that you have at home. Rosehip is my go to for my skin over 40.

Other great carrier oils for mature skin are avocado and sweet almond oil. So, thank you so much for watching. If you liked the video today, please hit the thumbs up and subscribe to my channel.
