Wildcraft Skincare – Simple Clean Beauty Rooted in Nature

As a green beauty expert, I often come across a local clean brand that I love in its entirety. Wildcraft is one of those clean beauty brands that makes my minimalist heart sing. Made in small batches in Toronto, Wildcraft is a female and indigenous-owned brand which creates skincare with simple ingredients in beautiful glass packaging. Wildcraft’s skincare product collection is not massive; in fact it’s very carefully created. I like the simplicity of the ingredients and the fact that the line does not overwhelm with a multitude of products. It’s also a big bonus that all this is achieved while keeping prices affordable. Here are my top three reasons I love this local, green brand.

1) Simple clean skincare ingredients

There’s something to be said about simple skincare ingredients, especially when they’re used harmoniously.  Wildcraft clean beauty products are handmade with ingredients from nature that you can read and understand right on the bottle. I got excited when I first read their labels.  There are so many beauty products with long, complicated ingredients lists. As a green beauty expert and consumer, I stop reading after the first 10 ingredients or so. It sometimes makes me wonder if a product is better for containing more than a dozen ingredients and if our skin can take it all in.

The Wildcraft Cleansing Oil was one of the first products I tried.  It’s made with six organic ingredients: marshmallow root infused sunflower oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, flax oil, essential oils of lavender, frankincense and tea tree, and rosemary leaf extract. It smells divine and the oils offer a multitude of benefits to the skin.  Unlike complicated oil cleansers that foam, this one gets the job done.  It removes all traces of makeup and moisturizes while doing so.  Make sure you take your time massaging it in.  Wildcraft’s cleansing oil comes in a generous 100ml bottle and it’s very affordable at $31. 2) Wildcraft luxurious glass packaging

There is something very luxurious about having pretty glass jars lined up on your vanity. The look of them, the feel of them and of course the fact that they store luxurious clean beauty products like The Wildcraft Restore Face Cream. Made with eight nourishing ingredients – orange flower water, calendula infused sunflower oil, aloe vera juice, avocado oil, rosehip oil, beeswax, vitamin E oil and geranium essential oil, it’s ideal for dry and aging skin. Yes, if you’re over 35 that’s you too! My skin absolutely loves it in the winter. Although it’s rich in texture, it absorbs without leaving a greasy residue. This product is my absolute favourite!

Glass packaging has a more luxurious feel than plastic. Plus, you can reuse it in your home for a variety of ways. My last oil cleanser bottle became a small vase for wildflowers.  Many eco stores offer the option to bring in your own jar to refill with a variety of products. Your Wildcraft glass jars could be washed and refilled or repurposed at home for your own needs. As a green beauty expert, one of my goals is to bring you brands that offer alternatives to disposing or even recycling. 3) Easy to use products

Do you remember the days when department store reps pushed skincare sets of five to six products on you? Clean beauty is all about finding a few products that you love and making them work with your lifestyle and your skin. For example, an oil cleanser can be enough to cleanse and moisturize the skin in the summer. In the winter, you can use the oil cleanser and layer it with a serum and moisturizer.  However, the core products can remain unchanged.  Using products that deliver in their ingredients, can truly simplify your skin care regimen. Wildcraft clean skincare products offer plenty of options for your skin’s needs without being overwhelming.
